My Shop

I also use the Incra 1000 after market miter gauge, it is accurate every time and was well worth the money!
Another main part of my shop is the Shopsmith Mark V. I received this piece of equipment while I was stationed in Jacksonville, Florida. Usually one of these costs about $2,500 with the standard accessories, I just so happened to pick mine up for the price of helping a buddy out for the day, which means basically free!! It came with the band saw, the table saw table, the lathe tools and accessories, and the 12 inch sanding disc, which gets used almost every day on every project. I later purchased a Strip Sander and Jointer. I like this machine for what it does for me right now, but when I retire and get settled, this machine will leave my shop and never return for the simple fact that it is a pain in the butt to reconfigure it every time you want to use another part of the machine
Even though the Shopsmith has a lathe as part of the machine, I found it inferior for the projects I was trying to do, so the decision was made to upgrade and, boy, am I ever glad that I did! I purchased a Grizzly G0462. This lathe is heavy, smooth, and very versatile. I have turned big bowls, small bowls, pens and pencils, and everything in between.
The other tools that I have vary from different manufacturers, size, and uses. I am not particular to any brand, other than Grizzly maybe, and tend to buy what every strikes my fancy with a price that is right. My wife seems to like Dewalt, since that is about the only kind of power tool she will buy me. But I can't fault her, look at the router I got!!!
In my inventory I have a Rigid 12" compound miter saw, 30 gallon air compressor, an assortment of chisels and lathe tools, and it's not a wood shop if it did not have an assortment of wood clamps!!
I also have a 12.5" Delta planer that I use when I buy rough lumber.
And one of the final tools I am going to mention is my Scroll Saw. I would have to say that I use this tool on 40-50% of the products that come out of the Dawg House.
